Do you charge by the hour or by the load?

By the load. There's no hourly meter, so a slow staircase is our problem to plan around rather than a cost that grows while you watch it happen.

Is there a minimum charge for one small item?

Every job has a floor, because sending a truck, fuel and a two-person crew costs the same for one chair as for ten. For a single curb-ready item from a house, ask about the city's free oversized pickup first — if you can wait for your collection day, that's genuinely the better deal, and we'll tell you so.

Are disposal fees and surcharges extra?

No — tipping fees and the surcharges on mattresses, tires and freon appliances are inside the flat price you approve. Those items are exactly where a cheap-sounding quote tends to grow once the truck has arrived.

Does a same-day pickup cost more?

Timing is one of the things we price from, so tell us your deadline when you send the photos. The flat number that comes back already has your date in it — there's no rush fee bolted on afterwards.

Can the price change on the day?

Only if what's there doesn't match the photos, and only before we start. We confirm the number at your door; if something new turned up, you approve the revised price or cancel on the spot at no charge. Nothing is ever added once we're working.

How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in Toronto?

The short answer is volume — and that isn't a dodge

Nearly every junk removal company in Toronto prices by how much room your load takes up in the truck. A few kitchen chairs and three bags from a closet sit at one end. A basement that has been quietly filling since 2003 sits at the other. Nobody being straight with you can name your number before seeing what you have.

What we won't do is make you call, sit through a pitch, and hear a range so wide it tells you nothing. Send photos, get one flat number for the whole job, and have that number confirmed at your door before anyone picks anything up.

The five things that actually move your number

Volume is the big one — the share of the truck your load fills, not the number of items you counted. Ten flat-packed boxes take less room than one sectional sofa, and the price follows the space, not the count.

Item type comes next, because some things cost money to dispose of no matter who hauls them. Mattresses and box springs, tires, and fridges or freezers that need certified refrigerant recovery all carry a surcharge at the transfer station. An honest quote has that built in from the start rather than added at the door.

Access is the one people forget. A pile already at the curb and a third-floor walk-up with a tight turn at the landing can be identical cubic feet and completely different jobs. Stairs, elevator bookings, long carries from a shared lane, and century-home staircases built for coal deliveries all add crew time.

Disposal category decides where your load ends up and what it costs to leave it there. Material that can be donated or recycled generally costs less to move than tonnage headed for landfill — one of the reasons we sort on the truck instead of tipping everything in one place.

Timing finishes the list. A same-day slot and a pickup that can wait until a truck is already working your street aren't the same job to serve. Tell us your deadline when you send photos and the number that comes back already accounts for it.

Why there's no price list on this page

Published rate cards for junk removal are almost always a starting point that grows on arrival. "Single item from" pricing holds if the item is sitting at the curb — and the same sofa in a basement is a different job than the one in the driveway.

We'd rather quote your actual load than advertise a number designed to get a truck to your door. Photos take two minutes, and what comes back is the number you approve, not the number we open with.

What any quote should include before you book

All of the labour: the carrying, the loading, and the sweep-up of the space before we leave. All of the disposal: tipping fees, the surcharges on mattresses and freon appliances, and the runs to donation and recycling partners. No fuel fee, no per-flight-of-stairs charge that appears on the day, and no hourly meter running while a crew works.

If a quote doesn't tell you which of those are inside the number, that's the question worth asking before the truck shows up — of us or of anybody else you're calling.

How to get an exact number in about two minutes

Photograph everything that has to go, standing back far enough that the whole pile lands in one frame, then get closer shots of anything heavy or awkward. Photograph the way out too — the staircase, the lane, the elevator if there is one. Add your postal code and the date you need it gone.

One flat price comes back, usually within the hour. We confirm it in person before touching anything, and if the load turns out bigger than the photos showed, you either approve the revised number or send us away at no charge. The price never moves once work has started.

And the free option, before you pay anyone

If you're in a Toronto house on city curbside collection, can get the item out to the curb yourself, and can wait for your collection day, the city takes oversized items at no charge. We put that on our own website because a flat-price business only works if you believe what we tell you. Condos, deadlines, carry-out labour, and the loads the city program won't touch are where paying someone actually buys you something.
